It has been a really busy few months! Hence the sporadic updates here.
But good news is here's a preview on some art i've been working on. The
AD was kind enough to let me post it in my portfolio as spoiler free
art!
Other Lands - WIP
This is definitely way off my style. A 180 degree turn as I made a more detailed looking piece contrary to my usual painterly feel. This was done as a skill test for Boomzap Studios which took me 6 days to complete. Now that I think about it and my process, I could have shaved off some time if I started out with a detailed sketch first and refined that line art before painting, instead of the painted sketch then color test I did. Well, I learned a lot from this test had fun doing something new. I'll definitely be making similar styled art pieces in the future!
Here's my WIP so you could see my process and learn from my mistakes!

Halloween Boogey!
Well I haven't posted in a while since I've been busy with a couple of artworks for L5R and another CCG to debut next year (but this works fun so no complaints here...hehe). I needed a breather before I tackle the work again so here he is, making a special appearance for Halloween, one of the classic Ghostbuster bad@$$es- The Boogeyman!
This guy here is the original closet hopper before cuddly Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc. forever changed the kid scaring business.
I Believe in Angels
....yeah well, maybe not your typical angel. This was done for Artorders Anonymous Challenge for a yet unannounced game under development, so I can't tell you anything about it except its all hush-hush for the moment. You can check out all the other cool artwork entries here.
Good Luck to the other participants!

Poker Character Illustrations
These were a few illustrations I made for an online poker site (http://www.xuepuke.com/). The site is up and running so I supposed its ok to post these now.
The site has a military theme hence the character designs.
Image copyright belongs to www.xuepuke.com.
Fire and Ice
This was done for an entry for deviant group's art jam with the theme Disney villains. I chose Shan Yu from Mulan. I consider him one (if not the most) ruthless villain Disney ever portrayed.
A daily dose of Venom!
Brian Bradly and the people at www.spidermancrawlspace.com featured this personal Venom artwork of mine at their site along with other artist's rendition our all time favorite bad-ass symbiote! Among those chosen is the great Dan Luvisi (adonihs @ deviantart) better known for his success in the graphic novel LMS (Last Man Standing)!

Warzone
... seems appropriate for the moment. Part of an unused background concept for a project I was working on a couple of months back.
Broken Honor
"What does it mean to be Samurai? To devote yourself utterly to a set of moral principles. To seek a stillness of your mind. And to master the way of the sword"
Iaijutsu
I always had a fascination with the Japanese art of sword drawing- "Iaido" truly an art form that hones the mind, body and spirit.
War Dance
I think this would be the last scorpion clan themed painting I make. Thinking of making a few ones for the Spider and the Dragon clans as well as my interpretation on the various Kami's for each of the clans of Rokugan.
But before that... here's a Scorpion Clan Courtier/ Shugenja.

The Edge of Rokugan
This was the background for one of the paintings I made. I realized the background could stand on its on... so here it is. I used to hate painting environment scenes, but now I'm beginning to enjoy them... although I know I still have a lot to learn and practice to make myself better at this.
Crimson Sentry
Drawing environments has never been my strong suit but this one came out pretty ok. Thank god for google and its all knowing search engine for the various pic references. (^_^)
The painting shows a typical "Torii" that supposedly marks the entrance of a temple or shrine. This one long forgotten and the shrine/ temple gone.
Feigned Submission Strike
This was done a while back and was actually the original pose of the samurai battling the oni. I wasn't too happy with it so I decided to change the hand pose. And since he was already an almost fully rendered piece- he gets a slot of his own.
Again, a scorpion clan themed piece...
